This is one of those wonderful items that as a human, we choose to consume despite more primal senses telling us not to. Encountered in the wild, we would stay away from anything like Lapsang Souchong. This, this is tea. I control my tea.

Either you love it or you hate it. I love it. If you love the smell of a campfire you'll love it too. There

This isn't the smokiest lapsang souchong I've ever had, but still very tasty.

I have to admit that I love smokiness in my black teas. Drinking this is like drinking liquid smoke with the flavor of Chinese black tea barely peaking through. The smell of of the tea steeping is much stronger than the flavor, in my opinion. People will notice when you brew this! The downside is the caffeine content. This isn't a morning tea. It's a great evening one!

Yeah, definitely a hit or miss sort of tea. I served this at a tea-tasting with friends and they all had different opinions on it. Personally, I find it a bit too strong, but the flavor itself is pleasant; I find myself blending it in with my morning blacks when I feel like an extra kick.

This is one of my favorite teas! The smoky aroma and flavor are a wonderful way to wake up in the morning. I usually sugar my teas, but this tea has such a rich, robust flavor that I don't need to. It's a favorite of mine to give to coffee drinkers!

Has a weird flavor, it's not bad, just...weird. Not something for everyday drinking, but still good on occasion.

An excellent lapsang souchong! This is like barbecued tea. Strong, smoky flavor that makes you want to have another cup right away!

I really like lapsang souchong, but those who are unfamiliar may want to try a small sample first. The best way to describe the taste is as a mixture of pine and wood smoke - very earthy! If that is your thing, then you will probably like this tea. If you want something light, sweet, or delicate, this is not the tea for you.

Evening has fallen over a small village in Central Russia. Inside the house of Ivan Ivonovich and is wife, there's a crackling fire in the stone hearth, chasing away the autumn chill. The table is set with plates of warm brown bread, creamy butter and bowls of borscht. There is also this tea served in cracked mugs with a bit of milk.
Adagio's Lapsang Souchong carries me away to distance places with my first sip of this smoky, exquisite tea. It's perfect.

Didn't know what I was getting into. Though this was a pretty strong lapsang. If you like it to hit, then this is for you.

This tea is definitely an aquired taste. I didn't like it much when I first tried it, but I stuck with it and found myself enjoying it toward the end of the cup. They really mean it when they say there's a 'smoky' flavor, so I'd recommend getting a sampler first. Try it. You might like it, you never know!

Not the best Russian Caravan tea I have ever had but pretty good. It doesn't have the kick I have had in some others. It is a very strong tea that smells of smoke and fire. If you like the smell of a camp fire and think you would like that taste then try this out. It is defiantly worth the try.

One of my all-time favorite teas. But it is definitely one of those love or hate teas, in my opinion. Very strong flavor.

This cup went 3.5 minutes with no additives. The tea was still slightly sweet up front, full bodied black in the center finished off with the warming, smoky flavor.

I really like this tea. I usually blend it 80% Lapsang with 20% of something smooth like Irish Breakfast or Fujian Baroque. It has a strong smoke scent when fresh that turns off your co-workers, but if you can convince them to try it, they will like the taste.

My first experience of a smokey tea and I’m loving it! I thought that I was prepared for the smell, but wow – it truly smells like a campfire. Then I had my first cup and was blown away. My palate isn’t very sophisticated so I can’t go into depth more than to say that taste vs. smell is so unique in a good way for me. Plus I get to pretend I’m a fire-breathing monster fueling up for the day when I drink this.

Everyone told me that this tea would be one I would instantly love or hate. I love this stuff. The dry leaf smells like a campfire, and the taste of the brew is wonderfully smoky. Worth a try for sure!

I really wanted to love lapsang souchong but I'm sad to admit that it didn't live up to my expectations. It was too smoky for my taste. But, as all tea lovers should know, there is always a solution for a slightly disappointing tea: experiments! A little lapsang souchong with some Irish breakfast was a big improvement.
