What a pleasant little tea, light, flavorful and oh so pretty in the tins!

I tried the sample. It was okay. Not what I was expecting. Will not order again.

This one was a big tricky for me. I have loved Yunnan jig for a long time and thought I try the gold. I seem to be getting bitterness from it. I started weighing the tea and testing with steep time and amount of tea per oz. I ended up with 1.4 grams of tea for 4oz of water, steeped at 2:30. I still get a slight bitter aftertaste, but still get the earthy taste of this tea. Its earthy, a bit musty (in a good way :)). Hubby loves it a bit more than I do. I think I actually prefer the Jig still.

Great to use to make a pitcher of Iced tea. Has a complex, spicy note on a shorter steep. Love it.

Its looks alone are exquisite and its aroma is reminiscent of molasses. Upon the first sip is a subtle honey flavor followed by a smokey undertone. It finishes off like a nice liquor that isn't sour or astringent. Go for multiple infusions but keep the first infusions short(<3mins). A bit of honey compliments this tea nicely.

This is my absolute favorite tea, and my "go-to" most mornings at work. Smooth, some hints of caramel and pepper --in a word: exceptional. Definitely delivers much more than many other teas at a higher price point, and if you forget about it for say...20-30 minutes, it will still be good when strong! I love it so much that I gave up buying smaller quantities and keep my fingers crossed that next time I need a refill I won't have to wait for another shipment to arrive at Adagio! If you like black tea, try it - there's a good chance you'll love it!

Deliciously smooth black tea with lingering sweet tones. I love it as a morning tea, and I think it would be great iced. Perfect for anyone looking for a high quality Chinese black tea.

Best. Black. Tea. Ever. This is my favorite black tea. I love the peppery taste and it makes a delicious iced tea.

This tea was good but not my favorite however, it does brew well and is not tempermental.

One of the best black teas I've ever had, if not the best. Smooth, great body. It just tastes wonderful and the leaves have a really interesting shape and texture. I highly recommend this tea over any other Chinese blacks.

This black tea is delicious! I prefer it slightly over yunnan jig, and it compares well as a cheaper alternative to the premium yunnan golden curls. I'll be buying a larger amount soon before I run out!

Delicious and bright, a nice flavor throughout. Out of all the samplers I ordered in spring (about ten), this is the one I will reorder first. No aftertaste. I brew 2 level (as level as you can get) teaspoons 3.5 minutes in my IngenuiTEA and it comes out wonderfully.

It's good, very good, but I find I get tired of it when I use it as a daily morning tea.

A delicious tea, but not my every day choice. I prefer an Oolong to this tea when I want a lighter cup.

One of my favorite teas but since it's a bit pricey I don't drink it every day. I would say the adagio description is pretty spot on. This (along with a new favorite of mine, "Black Dragon Pearls") is "hearty" enough to make a move on if you're looking for a "coffee killer". Definitely recommended.

I would almost say it was peach tea. The taste doesn't linger but good tea.

I like black teas, and this hits the spot! It has a nice malty flavour, though I'm not sure what Adagio means when they say it has a peppery flavour.. that's not something I pick up while drinking it. However, I still recommend it!
